Brief Background: Hurray, got a new cell phone back in service. Same number, same bat channel. Howie has played piano and sung up and down the East Coast of the United States. Residing in Washington DC for the last 30 years, he performs solo, in jazz combos, occasional New Orleans and blues bands, and numerous big bands in the metro region. Current News: I'm playing lots of solo piano/vocal gigs, and some great jazz gigs with a very talented group of musicians. I am serving on the Rockville Cultural Arts Commission. Old News The 2023 holiday season was a blast with 2 performances with ensembles at the Mormon Temple performance center and one performance at the Kennedy Center.
Cool gigs from the past include, the 2010 New Years Eve Bash at the Willard was a blast! I was playing in a piano bar setting in the Casablanca Room, and for the formal dinner. With about 2,000 people attending, the party was rocking.
I played solo piano for the 2009 BBB Torch Awards Ceremony featuring guest speaker Chris Matthews, host of Hardball, and Mistress of Ceremonies Elizabeth Leamy, consumer correspondent for Good Morning America. BBB Torch Awards . On New Year's Eve 2005, Howie performed at the Kennedy Center with the big band "Radio King Orchestra". Top 50 list -- Howie's arrangement of Cow Cow Boogie made Smooth Jazz 105.9's Sunday Brunch Top 50 list for 2001.
